Lately I've been feeling like I need less in my life.
Less clutter.
Less chaos.
Less mess.
Less clothes that don't fit quite right.
Less shoes that hurt my feet.
Less things I don't use or love.
Less time-wasters.
Less stuff.
Less nonsense.
I went through my clothes and shoes yesterday. I got 2 full garbage bags full to donate to the D.I. I'll bet I can get another bag if I go through my closet and drawers again. I just don't need shoes that give me blisters and clothes that mock me every time I look at them. (Most of those clothes and shoes were gotten at the D.I. anyway, so it's no great loss.)
I also went through my blog feeds list and got rid of about 2/3 of them. They were fun to read, but I don't need to check them every day.
I've really been struck by some great quotes and scriptures lately:
"Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful."
~William Morris~
2 Nephi 9:51 "Wherefore, do not spend money for that which is of no worth,
nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy...."
"The cause of most of man's unhappiness is sacrificing what he wants most for what he wants now."
~Gordon B. Hinckley~
I'm planning on going through every closet, box and cupboard in every room.
My house and life will be better when I am through with this goal. I'm looking forward to it!
Way to go! What a great idea! You inspire me, sis! :D
