Rainy Days and Mondays

I happen to love rainy days and Mondays.  I also like the Carpenter's song that talks about them.

This will be a whatever-comes-to-mind sort of post.

This Mother's Day was the best one so far.  I got breakfast in bed, numerous cards, pictures and artwork, a lovely dinner made by my husband and cleaned up by my kids and I got to go to Relief Society for a great lesson.  It was a great day all around.

I made an awesome gate with my younger brother yesterday to keep the chickens out of the garden.

I'm reading a book I haven't read before and have 3 or 4 more lined up after I finish the first one.  I get sort of a thrill when I start a new book.

Our garden is doing well and the fruit and nut trees are in bloom.

We are getting 3-4 eggs a day from our cute chickens.

I serve with wonderful leaders in Young Womens.  Girls' Camp will be so much fun this summer.

I get to be in charge of tracing the pattern of a teddy bear we are making for girls' camp for our service project.  We need to make 34 bears.  That's 34 patterns to trace.  I'd better get tracing!

This week is busy with activities we don't usually have.  Besides the usual Young Mens, Young Womens, and Activity Days for 3 daughters on 2 different days, we have a Meet the Author open house for Daughter #1 on Tuesday, a birthday lunch for our Young Womens president on Wednesday, a spring chorus concert for Daughter #1 on Thursday evening, the second grade dance preformance for Daughter #3 on Friday, the father and sons campout on Friday and the Heber Valley Campground open house on Saturday for YW leaders.  Yikes!

I'm going to have 2 kids at the junior high school next school year.  That is so weird.

My husband completed a half marathon 2 Saturdays ago at Thanksgiving Point.  It was his first race like that.  He came in at just over 2 hours.  We were all there at the finish line to cheer him on.  He was pretty much out of commission the rest of the day.

I'm very grateful for a working computer and a husband who "knows from computers."  Most of the recent problems with the computer were due in part to my "non-technicalness."  To say I was relieved that the problems were resolved is putting it lightly.

  1. You sure have a busy, busy week ahead of you. Sheesh. Mine is dull compared to yours. I also like rainy days and Mondays and Karen Carpenter's voice woke me up with the pitter-patter of the rain this morning. I'm glad you enjoyed Mother's Day so much! Yay for being spoiled! Woo hoo for the gate!

Way to go on the half marathon, Bryan!!!
