Randomitis

I think that when I post something on Facebook, I think that I don't need to put it on my blog, too.  I'm going to blame Facebook for my lack of blogging.

My son auditioned for Honor Choir at school.  There were 8 spots to fill.  He made it easily.  So now he sings in 3 choirs at school.  One is a class and the other two are extracurricular.  I'm so glad he enjoys singing and has the courage to try out for things.

Daughter #1 was just called and set apart as Beehive class president yesterday.  She chose great counselors and they will do great, I'm sure.

I start working with the Activity Days girls tomorrow.  I will be a leader for the oldest group, which includes Daughter #2.  Very exciting for both of us.

Several of the chickens are molting.  Why they do it when it gets cold is confusing.  There are feathers everywhere.

The house is a mess.  There is not a clean spot anywhere.  Some work will be done.  Today.

We are going to get serious about 72-hour kits.

Teaching radKIDS has been great.  My sis and I make a great team.

New Calling... Again

I got to meet with a member of the bishopric this morning before church.  I  was thinking it was either for a new calling or to give a talk.  This was the only time I have ever wished I had to give a talk.  Nope.  I was released from Young Womens and put in as an Activity Day Leader.  I was quite emotional about the whole being released from Young Womens thing.  Hard to believe, I know.  Me, cry?  It was just so sudden that I didn't have time to mentally accept the changes before having to face the young women and leaders.  That third hour of church was HARD.

That said, I am excited to get to work in Activity Days.  It's my first time serving in Activity Days.  Two of my daughters are in Activity Days right now and a third will come in in February.  So chances are pretty good that I'll get to teach a class with one of my daughters in it.  Maybe this calling is so I can spend more time with my younger kids.

I'll sure miss Young Womens, though.

It's Fall, Y'all

I've been a great big slacker when it comes to updating this blog.  For shame.

I love Fall.  I love the cooler temperatures, the colors of the leaves, the chrysanthemums, pumpkins, baking, the garden being almost done, and on and on.

The kids are all doing well in school.  Homework is getting done, big projects completed, etc.  They all enjoy school.

I still can't stop crocheting things.  I really have to force myself to do my chores sometimes, when all I want to do is crochet.

My son is getting closer to working on his Eagle.  He has 5 merit badges left to complete and should be done with those by the end of January.  He's been working hard.

Daughter #1 is nearly as tall as me.  She has braces and her teeth are so much improved.  She is very good at doing her hair and is so cute!

Daughter #2 is very creative.  She is always making things and doing experiments and learning about everything.

Daughter #3 is very into playing with friends.  She gets so busy playing sometimes that she forgets all about her family.  She has some wonderful friends.

Daughter #4 is also all about playing with friends.  She is getting better at reading and her handwriting has improved greatly.

My husband still enjoys his job and they really appreciate his work.  He is good at what he does.  He has been learning about fitness and nutrition and we have been trying to be healthier as a family.
